Mission, Vision and Values
The mission of GI School is: To form well-rounded successful leaders who communicate effectively and confidently on a universal level.
In the year 2020 we will be a community that educates for life through innovative and interactive methods that motivate learning.
Character Counts: It is a program created by the Josephson Institute in the United States that seeks to improve organizational and interpersonal relationships with a better ethical quality.
Character Counts is the global leader and has positively impacted more than 27 million children and adolescents around the world. The program develops the awareness of students and their families in making ethical decisions and seeks to reduce the integrity of bullying and violence in classrooms. In this way, it prepares students for the peaceful resolution of
conflicts and coexistence in a diverse society that requires social justice.
This program is not only aimed at students, it also has a positive impact and through training for teachers, developing them professionally and improving their pedagogy.
THE SCHOOL FULFILLS ITS MISSION THROUGH FOUR COMPONENTS:
US-TYPE BILINGUAL EDUCATION
Approximately 65% of the contents of instruction are delivered in English. Native speakers of English Teachers and bilingual teachers in Colombia are recruited to facilitate the core subjects of the curriculum. Books and materials imported from the United States are available. There is also a strong Spanish program, from preschool through high school.
COLLEGE PREPARATORY PROGRAM
Guided by the requirements of the Ministry of Education of Colombia and those of a U.S-type school, our academic program prepares students to continue their studies at any university in Colombia or in any English-speaking country.
CONTINUED PURSUIT OF KNOWLEDGE
Integrated projects and learning activities across the curriculum are based on research and aim at this goal. Access to technology, the library, computers and science labs, are used to support this process.
CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIETY
The character development programs, supported by the parents of the school and community, seek to awaken the social consciousness, responsibility and solidarity.
